
This recipe is full of options for substitutions. If you don’t have something in the recipe, feel free to switch it out for something else. Don’t have green pepper, use jalapeno, don’t have cheddar cheese, try gruyere!
Ingredients
- Full pack of bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 3 cups flour
- 2 Tbsp baking powder
- 2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup oat milk (cream or dairy milk)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 stick cold butter, sliced
- 10 figs, quartered
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400*
- Whisk together flour and baking powder
- Crumble in butter, using fingers, until flour mixture resembles cornmeal
- Mix in cheese, salt + pepper, bacon, pepper, and fig until combined
- Using a wooden spoon, stir in oat milk until just combined, will be crumbly
- Pour onto lightly flour surface and press together until it forms a ball
- Cut, with a pizza cutter, in half
- Press into two circles, about 8 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick
- Cut into 8 wedges
- Place on parchment paper on cookie sheet
- Bake for 25-27 minutes until golden brown
